Continuing my tradition of buying Japanese sweets because the packaging features a panda, today I bring you Glico Pocky Panda.
As always, Pocky are essentially sticks of biscuit. They are available in a wide array of flavours and varieties. I have reviewed the original flavour Chocolate here.
This variety, Glico Pocky Panda, are cookies and cream flavoured.
The box features an easy tear opening, you can then slide the bag of delicious Pocky out. :)
Pocky always come packaged in a foil bag to keep them as fresh as possible. The inner packaging here features cute pictures of pandas. :)
This is one is even holding a Pocky Panda. :o
So here they are. :) Pocky Panda feature a chocolate biscuit stick base covered in cookies and cream flavouring. There were 19 sticks in my packet and they are approximately 12 cm in length.
The contents of this box, 42g, contains 212 calories. This is comprised of 9.2g fat, 29.5g carbohydrates and 2.7g protein. This means each stick must contain approximately 11 calories.
The ingredients are as follows; Wheat flour, sugar, lactose (milk), vegetable fat, powdered whole milk, shortening, cocoa cookie, cocoa powder, butter, salt, yeast, cream powder (milk), dextrin, emulsifier, seasoning (mineral salt), essence, leavening agent, soya bean. Allergens in bold.
The cookie pieces lend themselves to quite a bumpy texture.
Here you can see the chocolate biscuit inner. ^_^
The Review
I quite liked Pocky Panda. They remind me of cookies and cream flavoured protein powder, which can taste a bit synthetic, but if you generally like cookies and cream, you will enjoy these as they are very much cookie and cream flavoured - they even smell like cookies and cream. Pocky are always moreish so you're going to want to keep eating them until they are all gone. :)
The Rating
8/10
I originally bought these Pocky Panda from JapanCentre, however they appear to no longer sell them in this packaging. I believe the cookies and cream flavour is the same, it's just the packaging is lacking in pandas. :)
