Ok, I will admit I bought these for one reason and one reason only, pandas!
I love anything with pandas on and biscuits are no exception. Hello Panda is Ok, I will admit I bought these for one reason and one reason only, pandas! I love anything with pandas on and biscuits are no exception. Hello Panda is a Japanese brand of biscuits. They consist of a crunchy biscuit outer filled with a flavoured cream inside. This is a review for the Milk Cream flavour, other flavours include Chocolate, Strawberry, Matcha Green Tea and Double Chocolate (chocolate biscuit with chocolate filling).
Update: I have since reviewed the Chocolate variety.
Here is my review of Hello Panda Biscuits in Chocolate.
The ingredients are; wheat flour, vegetable oil (palm oil), sugar, seasoning (maltodextrin, hydrolysed vegetable protein, yoghurt powder (dextrin, skim milk powder), flavour enhancers (e627, e631), leavening agents (e503, e500, salt, emulsifier (e473), malt extract (barley), yeast powder, natural colour (e150a), lactose, whole milk powder, skim milk powder, emulsifier (soya lecithin), artificial vanilla and sugar flavourings. Allergens in bold.
A 50g serving, (the contents of the box) contains 271 calories. This is comprised of 15.3g of fat (8.3g of which are saturates), 30.1g carbohydrates (14.6g of which are sugars), 3.1g protein and 0.1g salt.
Hello Panda biscuits come packaged in a blue foil bag to keep the contents fresh.
A sneak peak into the bag. The smell of vanilla is very strong.
Each biscuit depicts a panda doing a sport. I think this one is playing, hmm, basketball?
Hello Panda biscuits are hollow, filled with creamy flavouring.
The different sports in my box of Hello Panda. What do you think the sports are? My guesses are below!
My guesses are (left to right); roller skating, badminton, skiing, basketball, fencing and baseball? I'm a little disappointed there wasn't more of a variety included in my box. On the packaging, there are a few designs pictured that were not included.
The Review
I really like these. They're sweet enough to not be bland whilst not being too sweet. The biscuit shell is not crispy nor is it soft, just in between. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours. If I had to choose between Hello Panda and Pocky, both being iconic Japanese sweet snacks, I would choose Hello Panda, as they are just that little bit more substantial.
The Rating
8/10
