Today I am reviewing Meiji Lucky Stick in Strawberry.
Lucky Stick are essentially a thicker version of Pocky. It appears there are only three flavours of Lucky Stick available, Cappuccino Cream, Chocolate and Strawberry.
Like Pocky, Lucky Sticks are packaged in a foil wrap to keep them fresh.
As soon as I opened the foil wrapping, the smell of strawberry greeted me. They smell so good. :-)
Wow, the colour is so pretty! There were 14 Lucky Sticks included in my packet and they are approximately 12.5 cm in length.
A 45g serving, (the contents of the box) contains 220 calories. This is comprised of 11g of fat (5g of which are saturates), 28g carbohydrates (13g of which are sugars) and 3g protein.
The ingredients are; wheat flour, sugar, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (palm oil), palm oil, whey powder (milk), whole milk powder, glucose syrup, condensed milk, leavening (ammonium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate), artificial flavourings, emulsifiers (soy bean lecithin, sucrose esters of fatty acid), salt, citric acid, enzyme, strawberry powder, artificial colouring. Allergens in bold. Allergy warning: contains wheat, milk and soybeans. May contain nuts and eggs.
Here you can see the biscuit inner. ^_^
The Review
So, how do Lucky Stick Strawberry taste? Pretty good I say. They have a lovely crispiness to them, a little more than Pocky. The icing is sweet, very sweet. There is just enough without them being overwhelmingly sweet, but they do come very close to crossing that line.My only complaint is there wasn't enough in the packet! :-)
I will most likely purchase these again, however I am intrigued to try the Cappuccino Cream!
